Thoughts for the pessimists
What makes your brain tick?
According to researchers, any part of your body, if you don't use it you lose
it, and particularly your brain, the more you use it the more brainy you become.
Why don't we drink pig's milk?
Pigs are well known for having just about every part of:
- their bodies used for something
- their bristles in shaving-brushes
- their skin in wallets
- their meat cured for our breakfast
And as pigs' organs (except their brains) are similar in size to those of
humans, scientists are even genetically engineering pigs, in order they may be
one day used to provide transplant organs for humans.
So why don't we also use their milk?
It's not because of the taste:
pigs belong to the same order of mammals as goats, sheep and cattle, and their
milk tastes similar.
The real reason we don't get our daily pint of pig's milk is, according to the
Milk Development Council, far more simple -
it's the devil's own job to milk a pig.
Unlike their farmyard cousins, pigs don't have
udders
- instead, they have
teats.
And so far, it's not proved worthwhile to develop
the equipment need to extract milk from them.
Mantra: ‘You can't cure brain death but you can prevent
it.
What's the moral in these stories?
