Thoughts for the pessimists

What makes your brain tick?
According to researchers, any part of your body, if you don't use it you lose it, and particularly your brain, the more you use it the more brainy you become.

Pessimism Is An Attitude of Mind

Optimism - is an important element of private and professional life. Pessimism is an attitude of mind which can be extremely harmful.

Psychological studies have been carried out into the thought processes involved in both optimistic and pessimistic attitudes:

These have shown that the dominant mental outlook at the time releases positive or negative forces which direct behaviors.

A famous social psychologist had given us the phrase 'self-fulfillment' prophecy.

This phrase describes a phenomenon, which you will probably have observed at some point in life -

you anticipate failure, and believe that one of your projects will go wrong in some way (this is the negative prophecy). Sure enough, some projects misfires.

The same thing is true for success (that is the positive prophecy), believe that you will succeed, and everything goes smoothly.

The reason that our expectations influence our actions lies in psychical processes, of which we are not conscious, which controls behaviors.

A basic attitude of mind which is optimistic and expects success is therefore a most important contributor to dynamic outlook and confidents.

It goes without saying that optimism is not an unfailing trick, over which one has a monopoly.

However, it is a factor of great mental power, which can tip the balance in favor of success, and which brings into play strengths not tapped by a pessimistic attitude.
